Facility operations updates: Register of Deeds Office closure extending through Friday, March 5

A Cabarrus County employee tested positive for COVID-19, causing the Register of Deeds Office to shift to remote-only operations for the remainder of the week.

On Sunday, the County announced the Register of Deeds Office would begin remote operations on Monday. Following a review of potential exposures, the County decided to extend the closure to ensure the safety of all involved.

Most services will continue without interruption through the online service portal at https://cabarruscounty.us/departments/register-deeds. Those needing to speak with a representative can call 704-920-2112 or work with the virtual assistant kiosk outside the Register of Deeds Office.

The Register of Deeds Office is not able to process marriage licenses at this time. Those needing to apply for a marriage license can proceed at any North Carolina county.
