The Sheriff's office Records division is modifying operations to protect citizens and employees. All concealed handgun permit appointments will occur as scheduled. If you receive notification your permit is ready for pickup (concealed or purchase), you may pick it up on the first floor during normal business hours. Handgun purchase permit mental health release forms may be dropped off during regular business hours.
The Sheriff's office provides fingerprinting to Cabarrus County residents on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, by appointment only. All appointments are made online.

The Cabarrus County Sheriff's office is the primary law enforcement agency for Cabarrus County.
The Sheriff’s office investigates crimes and patrols the County, while providing custody and control for defendants in the court system. Cabarrus deputies are also responsible for securing courtrooms and serving criminal and civil papers.
Despite a recent growth explosion, Cabarrus residents continue to enjoy one of the lowest crime rates in the State.
